The internet is a wonderful resource if you’re looking to find quick answers to some basic questions. You can find answers to some of those all-time sudden burning questions like ‘what’s the tallest building in the world’, or search for handy DIY advice if you’re putting up a shelf.

However, when there’s so much information out there, and a lot of it potentially false, it can be hard to know what to believe and take for granted. When it comes to golf, there are no quick and easy fixes to getting better. You’ve got to put the practice in to see your skills improve.

We all have incredibly unique golf swings, so a lot of generic advice you find online may be entirely misleading for developing your personal game. That's where our expertise comes in - you can have all your worries cleared up in a pleasant conversation with your PGA professional. Please read on as we give you a few reminders as to what makes us your one-stop shop for all your golfing needs.

Buying advice from golf professionals

Let's say you've saved up and want to treat yourself to a new driver. What process do you go through?

Maybe you start with some general research online? One you've narrowed the choice down to several options, you might well look up some reviews online (of which there are hundreds). While it’s helpful to hear the various positive and negative digital opinions to give you a sense of perspective, no-one is more qualified to offer you bespoke advice as how each product will perform in your hands than your PGA professional.

To put it in perspective, when you’re unwell you consult a qualified doctor to give you an appropriate treatment. You wouldn’t want to take medicine from an unknown source, so why take advice from an untrustworthy website?

It goes without saying that PGA professionals have the industry knowledge and the technical ability to know what’s best for your game. If you’re right-handed and suffer from a hook, we’ll be able to iron out your swing so that you’re hitting the ball straighter, more consistently. If you have a fast swing and can’t seem to make consistent contact with the ball, we’ll be able to find the right kind of shafts you should be playing with.

Consulting with a PGA professional will take all the uncertainty away, and we’ll be able to point you in the direction of the product you need.

Physical demonstration

When you’re shopping online, you can get lots of information about a golf product from all kinds of blogs, articles and videos. However, you don’t actually get your hands on what you’ve purchased until it’s been delivered to you - and you've paid!

Imagine finding your dream piece of furniture online, waiting weeks for the delivery, then having disappointment wash over you when you find out it doesn’t quite fit the spot you were saving for it. We've all been there!

When you visit us in the pro shop, we can give you demonstrations of how each piece of kit works. Modern golf technology - such as electric trolleys - have all sorts of features and capabilities you might not be aware of at first if they’re not fully explained to you. We found in a recent survey that 66% of golfers use an electric trolley on the course; do you know how to use every feature on yours?

We want you to get the most out of your gear, so, from balls to shoes and to clubs, we’ll be able to fully explain the ins-and-outs of each product, and how they’ll compliment your game.

Getting to know you

As you’ll no doubt be aware, your team of PGA professionals are on-hand for custom club fittings and lessons, so we can always help improve your game and make sure you’re playing with the right clubs.

It’s only beneficial to you that the more we get to know your skill level, ability, and how you play the game, we’ll be better able to give you recommendations of the kind of equipment you need. At the end of the day, golf is all about you, and when we help set your game up correctly, you’ll be getting the most fun out of the game.

Doing your own research online is a fantastic starting point to satisfy your curiosity, but should you want the most personal, trusted service time and again, we’re open and ready to help you in the pro shop.

In the meantime, send us a message below or pop by the pro shop if you have a question for us.
