Electric trolley frame type?

The first thing you want to consider when buying an electric trolley is the kind of frame you’re looking for. Motocaddy has two distinct electric trolley series, the budget-friendly S-Series, and the tech-accommodating M-Series.

The S-Series is totally built for simplicity and convenience. These trollies have a quick 1-step folding system whereby you can fold them and unfold them again in seconds, and they’re a lot lighter than their M-Series counterparts. If you’re just dipping your toes in the world of electric trolleys and you’d prefer to stick to a budget, these trolleys are incredibly reliable.

The M-Series features a similar design to the S-Series but has a sturdier build that can support more technological capabilities. These trolleys fold up even smaller than the S-Series which makes them ideal if you don’t have lots of storage space or you have a fairly small car boot. They’re perfect for holding electric trolley accessories too. Let’s walk you through some of the individual models and the kind of tech that they come with…

Latest tech or functionality?

While the S-Series trolleys such as the S1 come with a simple, pleasing handle that displays your speed settings, the M-Series trolleys come with a widescreen LCD display. The more premium models can display all sorts of features including virtual greens and hazards.

The SE is a nifty device that has all you need to get you smoothly around a golf course. The small display details which of the 9 different speed settings you’re moving along with, folds up in no time, and is very easy to plug in and charge. The S1 has a powerful 28V battery, and with both sporty styling and a 1-step folding system, this trolley is nothing if not convenient.

All the models in the M-Series range can include Motocaddy’s revolutionary DHC capability. Standing for Automatic DownHill Control, this feature automatically slows your trolley when you’re walking downhill to prevent your gear from picking up too much momentum and flying out of your reach.

Each trolley also has an adjustable handle that you can manipulate to your ideal height. With quiet, easy to charge CLICK ‘N’ CONNECT batteries, storing and recharging your trolley couldn’t be easier. So, what kinds of functionalities come with the more premium trolleys?

GPS functionality or not?

The first thing you’ll notice about Motocaddy’s line of trolleys in the M Series, such is the case with the M3 GPS, is that plenty of them come equipped with high performance GPS. This allows your trolley to seamlessly know where you are and what course you’re playing, as well as offer you instant yardage readings to specific targets, including hazards and greens.

Models like the M3 GPS and M5 GPS have a ‘drag and drop’ function whereby you can place your finger on the virtual green to measure up where the flag is on the trolley with where it is in real life, giving you an even more reliable distance reading. We assure you, you’ll never get tired of looking at the glossy display and all the info at your fingertips!

If you’d rather not have GPS but you want to take advantage of the excellent M-Series features including Automatic Downhill Control (DHC) that helps your trolley from running away from you going down a hill, the M1 will be the ideal trolley for you.

Remote control or not?

Not only do the latest Motocaddy electric trolleys completely take the pressure off your bag, you can even nowadays have a completely hands-free experience. Certain trolleys including the ME Remote and M7 GPS come with a remote control handset that you can use to propel and turn your trolley from a distance.

Think how great it will feel to walk off a green having sunk a tricky putt to then have you gear walk alongside you to the next too. Who needs a caddy? The ME Remote trolley is an excellent trolley within its own right, but the M7 GPS has all the bells and whistles.
