With the big golf manufacturers slowing catching up with demand we are pleased to see some new sizes and colours come in of our lovely brands.

Adidas has been exceptionally popular since it replaced Under Armour in our Pro Shop, the boost shoes have been highly reccomended for comfort and the shirts never need ironing and are very breathable in the heat.

Junior news

Junior Coaching

Beth has been very busy with the juniors since coming back from lockdown if you have not seen her and a herd of children following behind on a Saturday! Her junior group sessions have been really popular and she now has 30 kids taking part every week up until October with the hope that some will join.
 
Beth also organised a Texas Scramble on last Sunday with 12 external juniors involved, the event ran extremely well and they loved the format and golf course. With one junior already joining the membership.
 
If you see any juniors wandering around the club practicing or having lessons please make sure you say hello or give them a wave!

Golf on Tour

Tiger returns!

Tiger Woods made his return to golf at The Memorial Tournament, playing at a Jack Nicklaus-designed course alongside Rory McIlroy and Brooks Koepka. That’s pretty cool!

Muirfield Village, better known as Jack’s Place, proved to be a brutal beast. 3-over was enough to make the cut and even-par enough for a share of 10th, with even the world’s best notching double and triple bogeys.

Jon Rahm became just the second Spaniard in history, behind Seve Ballesteros, to become World No.1 after a convincing victory in Ohio. Despite going +5 on Sunday’s back-nine, Rahm cruised to a three-stroke win.

Rahm’s final score of -9 will not jump off the page of PGA Tour winners, but numbers could never tell the story of just how much Jack’s Place demanded.

Gapping: How, what & why?

How well do you know each club in your bag? Perhaps more importantly, how well do you know your entire set? Your clubs are not individual tools, so it's always useful to look at them as a set to identify any problematic areas.

Book a professional gapping session

We’ve all taken out the wrong club from time to time and found ourselves hitting far too long or too short. The frustration is unrivalled!

By coming for a gapping session, you'll leave with the knowledge of how far each club in your bag actually travels. Wave goodbye to the plus or minus 10-yard guesses!

Correctly gapped golf club distances

This sort of knowledge will fill you with confidence that you have the right club in your hand, whether laying-up off the tee or attacking a flag.

A good side note of coming for a gapping session is that we will find any yardages that you don't have covered, as well as any clubs that go the same distance - a real waste!
