Memories Competition

Well done to everyone for coming along to the Memories Competition at the weekend.

It looked like they enjoyed the fun format and was a good turnout.

Well done to the super team of Phil Kitchen, Palita Moore and Mark Bracey for winning.

Leah Bretton at the Home Of Golf

Congratulations to Leah Bretton who took part in the Mercedes Owners UK final at St Andrews last week, with rounds at both Brockett Hall & St Georges.

Leah shot 35 points on the Old Course and 36 points on the New Course, with her team winning the overall team prize.

Sam Linskey finishing the season strong

Contender for player of the year Sam Linskey produced another fine performance at the Essendon Junior Club Championship. Sam shot a great score of level par in tough conditions to claim the title last weekend. Sam has been a familiar face in the shop this year, starting the year with having monthly lessons with Head Professional Glen Portelli.

Carl Parker then assisted the team, building Sam into his perfect spec of clubs to discourage his bad swing habits. Sam’s driving improved drastically since seeing Carl. James Jankowski was also called into action to help Sam with his putting during the season. Here at OFM Pro Shop, we really do have the complete solution to all golfers.

Studio news

Winter Membership

Here at Old Fold Manor we have one of the best indoor golf studios locally, equipped with a Foresight GC2 monitor, there is nowhere better to practice this time of year. Head Professional Glen Portelli has seen his golf improve drastically since working at the club, Glen puts this down to the use of the studio during the winter.

Many members have also been taking advantage of our studio and have also seen big improvements to their swings. Please see below studio passes;

Who had a pair of these?

I'm sure the shoes below will make a lot of you smile. It's been a long time since golf shoes looked like the first image and it's safe to say that comfort, style and traction have all come a long way since then - even if some of us think the overlapping tongues looked great!

Old style shoes

It wasn't just the daring uppers and striking tongue that defined golf shoes from yesteryear; flip the shoes upside down and the hard leather outsole featured single metal spikes that resembled weapons more so than traction pods.
