Mark Bracey’s meaty shot
Last Friday Jack competed in the Muswell Hill Pro Am with Mark Bracey, Andy Bardsley and Paul Anderson. Not all the team had their best golf, but none more than Mark. However, Mark came away with the last laugh winning the nearest the pin on the 12th, with a 9-iron bouncing off the nearest the pin marker and finishing three feet from the hole!
For his nearest the pin win he came away with a bottle of wine and a big T-Bone steak! It was a meaty victory for Mark.

OFM members compete at John O’Gaunt Pro Am
Last Monday Old Fold Professional Glen Portelli took a team of OFM members to compete in the popular annual Pro-Am at John O’Gaunt Golf Club. The team consisted of Manoj Shah, Steve Parker and Birgitte Karle who had all never played in a Pro-Am. The team had a great day out and played some super golf, finishing 11th out of 54 teams. Glen also had a decent day on the course, shooting a respectable 71 (-1) to finish T6th. The highlight of his round came when he out drove playing partner Steve Parker with a 6 iron. The whole group had a good chuckle about that.

Most overlooked club in the bag? |
Thankfully, the penny has dropped when it comes to the importance of getting custom fitted for a new driver or set of irons. Unfortunately, we still see the vast majority of golfers overlook this process when it comes to their fairway woods, but why? |
| How often do you use yours? |
|
“I wouldn’t use it often enough” “It's too expensive” “It's not necessary” Yeah, I guess if you’re not concerned with shooting lower scores and maximising your potential then a custom fitted fairway wood isn’t that important. However, if improving your game is something you want to achieve, then having a full set of custom fitted clubs is vital, especially when it comes to gapping between your driver and irons.

Srixon Z F85 fairway woods One option that we'll definitely get you to try is this beauty from Srixon. It's the only fairway wood in their 2019 range and for good reason, too. A combination of Srixon's Cup Face and Crown Step produce a powerful club that offers consistent distance across the face. So, let’s get you booked in for a custom fitting with a member of the team and harness your potential with the most overlooked club in the bag. |
