Men's Medal

First place - Callum Austin (68 - 2 = 66 £30), second place - Manish Depala (87 - 19 = 68 £25), third place - Mark McCarthy (86 - 18 = 68 £20), fourth place - Nick Bolsover (74 - 5 = 69 £15), and in fifth place - Peyer Whittaker (76 - 7 - 69 £10).

Hudson winners

We are delighted to announce that Old Fold Manor have won the 60th Hudson Trophy.

The Prestigious competition which has a strong link with the Ryder Cup was played at South Herts last weekend.

It was the first time OFM played in the Hudson Trophy since being relegated a few years ago. It was also the first time the club had ever won the tournament.

The heroes of the day were Old Fold Manor’s impressive B team (Spencer Davis and Calum Austin) who played to level par on both of their rounds while our A team (Glen Portelli and Mike Ready) finished well in round two.

Second place went to Thorpe Hall who produced some excellent golf in the morning rounds but could keep up with fantastic OFM team. Well done lads, there are some great past champions on the trophy, click here to see them.

Artisans vs Club

Congratulations to the Artisans team who played in the Club v Artisans annual match here last Sunday.
The final result was 4.5 to 2.5.

The Club team is already in training for next year’s rematch.

Fitting news

Wedge Fitting Day

Jack will be organising a Wedge Fitting Day at Old Fold Manor on Friday, 28 September from 8:00am - 6:00pm. Jack will go through the process of the correct gapping between each wedge in the studio.

After this gapping Jack will go on to the short game with the chosen wedges and will work on which bounce is needed for each wedge.This will be determined by chipping, pitching and bunker play.

Tour news

All roads lead to Paris

The finale of the Made in Denmark tournament was an all-English affair, with a four-way play-off between Lee Westwood, Jonathan ‘Jigger’ Thomson, Steven Brown and eventual winner Matt Wallace. The tournament was played at the home course of Ryder Cup Captain, Thomas Bjorn, and the event has become a firm favourite with both players and fans alike. Due to the European Tour tournament rescheduling that will take place next year, the Made in Denmark will move to the week of BMW PGA at Wentworth and hopes to attract even more big names.

The automatic picks for Europe’s Ryder Cup team were also decided in Denmark, but I’m sure you are all now talking about the Captain’s wildcard picks that took place on Wednesday. The American team still have one pick remaining with the finale of the FedExCup unfolding over the next few weeks and all eyes on East Lake for the next 10-million-dollar man. Let me know your thoughts here on the wildcard picks.
