Trolley Repair Service

On Monday, 19 February we are heading up to Motocaddy HQ to be trained on how to repair broken down electric trolleys. This means we will be an affiliated Motocaddy Repair Centre, hopefully a service which will be useful to members and other golfers in the local area.

Glen’s Ace

This week, Head Professional Glen Portelli started his 2018 preparations. Whilst over at Aldenham Golf Club making a few swing “tweaks”, Glen had a hole-in-one on the 17th par three.

Glen said it was a “perfect 6-iron from 189 yards”… Make sure you grab a drink off him if you see him pass through the bar.

Comfort is a must

Much has been made of the benefits of golf on our physical and mental health in recent years, with a study by Edinburgh University even claiming playing regularly can increase your life expectancy. Part of their research found that golfers typically burn around 500 calories during 18 holes, which isn’t surprising given the distance we travel.

A recent R&A experiment suggested the average total distance walked was 6.6 miles, with factors such as the number of shots taken (depicted in the illustration) playing a key role.
