Academy news

Get kids into Golf – Supported by Junior Golf Passport

Every Saturday morning at 10:00am – 11:00am and Sunday at 2:00pm – 3:00pm we run our junior golf lessons. These are open to anyone and you do not have to be a member to come along. We run fun games for all abilities and cover all aspects of the game from general etiquette through to getting out on the course. The sessions are £10 per hour or £50 for a block of six sessions.

Lesson of the week

Phil Kitchen Is the lesson of the week winning the Saturday Stableford with 41 points. Phil recently had a lesson with Head Professional Jack Frances and wanted to work on his driving. After his round he commented on how much better his driving was in his round of 41 points. Well done Phil, keep up the excellent work.

It's a game of fine margins

A yard further and your ball’s resting on the green rather than in the greenside bunker. Five millimetres closer to the centre of the face and it might fly the water rather than make a splash landing. A little less pace on your putt and the ball takes the break and falls into the centre of the cup.

Fine margins in golf

Golf is a game of fine margins, which means every decision you make is an important one. You wouldn’t go from one round to the next playing with different clubs - sometimes new, sometimes old, sometimes slightly damaged – so why do that with your golf ball? Considering it’s the only constant you have on every shot, it can really pay off to use the same model if you want to improve your consistency.
