Bobby Hammond gains super yards

This week we had member Bobby Hammond into our studio to see if we could beat his current driver. Glen accepted the challenge and ended up gaining 31 yards on an already impressive distance.

The PING G400 with the alta stiff shaft with the low spinning head saw him gain a better flight, tighter dispersion and that all important distance as well! We thank Bobby for his time and wish him well with the new driver! If you have not been fitted why not book in for FREE and let us see if we can improve your game.

Junior news

Get kids into Golf

Every Saturday morning at 10am – 11am and Sunday at 2pm – 3pm we run our junior golf lessons. These are open to anyone and you do not have to be a member to come along. We run fun games for all abilities and cover all aspects of the game from general etiquette through to getting out on the course.

Ladies news

Get into Golf Ladies Group Coaching

Following the junior sessions on a Saturday and Thursday we run a Ladies session for all abilities that is open to both members and non-members. We work on a different area of the game each week to make sure you’re confident when you’re out on the course, and build up skills to ensure that you are ready to go out on the course if you are not so experienced.

The price is the same as the junior group sessions so if you want some expert advice for only £10 then please feel free to come along.

Tour news

A European hat-trick

Tommy Fleetwood, Jon Rahm and Sergio Garcia all secured victory in their respected events over the weekend and certainly strengthened Europe’s claim in winning the Ryder Cup back in Paris later this year.

Englishman Tommy Fleetwood shot a superb 65 (-7) in the closing round of the Abu Dhabi Championship to edge out his fellow countrymen Matthew Fitzpatrick and Ross Fisher. Fleetwood takes top spot in the Race to Dubai leaderboard, the trophy he secured only a few months ago. Sergio Garcia went slightly under the radar at the weekend and won the weather delayed Singapore Open on the Asian Tour. The Masters champion played 27 holes during the final day to run out a 5 shot victor. New Spanish sensation Jon Rahm came through a four hole play-off against American Andrew Landry to secure his second victory on the PGA Tour. Rahm rises to number two in the world golf rankings behind American long hitter Dustin Johnson.

The European Tour visits Dubai this week for their second stop of the desert swing and the PGA Tour head to US Open venue Torrey Pines where a certain Tiger Woods will get his season underway.

 
 
 
 
Conquer the fat wedge shot

Those of you who are brave enough to face the elements and get out on the course over the winter will know that it’s very easy to hit the odd fat shot, especially with your wedges when trying to be more delicate around the greens. This can be incredibly frustrating, but luckily we’re here to help…
