Three club results

First place - Spencer Davis - 37 points (£20), second place - Geoff Blythe - 35 points (£15), third place - Anthony Rushton - 34 points (£10) and in fourth place - Nicholas Davis - 34 points (£5).


Academy news

Get kids into Golf – Supported by Junior Golf Passport

Every Saturday morning from 10:00am – 11:00am and Sunday from 2:00pm – 3:00pm we run our junior golf lessons. These are open to anyone and you do not have to be a member to come along. We run fun games for all abilities and cover all aspects of the game from general etiquette through to getting out on the course. The sessions are £10 per hour or £50 for a block of six sessions.

Ladies Group Coaching

Following the junior sessions on a Saturday we run a ladies session for all abilities that is open to both members and non-members. We work on a different area of the game each week to make sure you’re confident when you’re out on the course, and build up skills to ensure that you are ready to go out on the course if you are not so experienced. The price is the same as the junior group sessions so if you want some expert advice for only £10 then please feel free to come along.

Nearest the pin results

On Saturday we held a FREE to enter nearest the pin competition in our Foresight Golf Studio. We used the famous 8th hole at Royal Troon and gave everyone who felt up to the challenge three shots to see how close they could get it. Below are some pictures of the day and the conclusive results! The winner was Bobby Hammond who has received a £50 pro shop voucher. Well done Bobby!

Ladies Nearest the Pin Competition

On Tuesday we had a special nearest the pin competition for the ladies section. We had a fantastic turn out of 20 ladies participate in the event and the winner on the competition was Jenny Pizey, with a distance of 12.2 feet from the hole. Well done Jenny and to all the ladies that participated.

Re-gripping Season – But how do you know?

Custom Fitting

Custom fitting is essential
Here in the pro shop, we have both the expertise and tools to be able to offer you a full custom fit.

We often come across a common misconception that custom fitting is only for low handicap players, but this couldn’t be further from the truth.

The more you struggle with distance and accuracy, the more there is to gain from playing clubs that are fitted to your swing; from longer carries and tighter dispersions to more consistent strikes. We also find that people really enjoy trying new equipment and learning about their swings, which often results in them being fitted for something completely different to what they’d expected at the beginning.

The new standard for wedge performance

Those of you on social media may have seen that Callaway has just announced their new wedge for 2018: Mack Daddy 4.

In brief, the MD4 comes with micro-ridges and micro-grooves on the club face, which provide surface roughness to increase spin significantly on a variety of shots. In addition, Callaway say this wedge produces the most satisfying feel they've ever accomplished in a wedge. Surely it's worth a try?
