Club Championship
Last week we held our Club Championship with our very best golfers players fighting to find a winner through a qualifying strokeplay round, then a Quarter-final, Semi, and Final in a matchplay format to find the winner. The Quarter-finals consisted of:
- Mike Ready vs. Nick Davis Snr.
- Nick Davis Jnr vs. Callum Austin.
- Paul Nancarrow vs. Hunter Nunez.
- Spencer Davis vs. Nick Bolsover.
The Semis were:
- Callum Austin vs. Nick Davis Snr.
- Paul Nancarrow vs. Spencer Davis.
The finalists were Nick Davis Snr vs. Paul Nancarrow. The match was excruciatingly close between Paul And Nick. Nick was flying and 3Up with three to play. Paul birdied 16 and 17 and parred 18 to force a play-off and turn up the tensions even higher. Nick's long game was solid and he gave himself a chance for the win from about 10ft on the first play-off hole which narrowly missed, then he secured the win on the second play-off hole with an incredible birdie from the right-hand rough. Congratulations to all the Quarter-finalists, Semi-finalists and Finalists. An extra special well done goes to the winner for the first time; Nick Davis.
Weather Warning
As the weather is getting hotter and hotter, the pro shop has a few tips which will keep you cool in the heat.
Always wear suncream to avoid sunburn.
Drink plenty of water during your round.
Wear a hat - Keeping the sun off your head and face will reduce the risk of sunstroke.
Guess the tan?
With this lovely hot weather we are having at the moment there are some amazing tan lines from everyone at the golf club. This week our competition... Guess whose this brilliant golf tan belongs to? The winner will receive a pair of FootJoy sport socks so you can have a tan just like this...

Captain and Pro off to a flying start!
Captain Kevin and Professional Jack got off to a flying start winning their first Captain and Professional match against Chris Murray and Alan Sallis. The match was a tight victory for both Kevin and Jack, with a winning birdie on the last hole to take the victory 1Up. We would both like to thank Alan and Chris for kicking off the Captain Professional challenge with a hard-fought game. All Captain Professional dates are all up in the professional shop. Junior and Ladies Classes
Summer is now in full flow and the professional staff are fully underway with coaching juniors and ladies. Professional Stephen Topping has been doing a fantastic job in running both coaching sessions. Here is a little reminder of his class times and prices...
Junior Class - Saturdays - 10:00am - 11:00am - £10 per person.
Ladies Class - Saturdays - 11:00am - 12:00pm - £10 per person.
Junior Roll-up - Sundays - 2:00pm - 3:00pm - £10 per person.
