Glen's Victorious Return

Head Professional Glen Portelli had a fantastic win at the PGA East Region Pro-Am at Verulam Golf Club on Friday, 5 May with a great score of -4 (68). Glen worked at Verulam for four years prior his move to Old Fold Manor and very much enjoyed winning on his return. Glen And Jack Fly The OFM Flag High

On Tuesday, 9 May, Glen and Jack competed in the Hertfordshire Professional Championship at Essendon GC (old and new course). Glen, who won the tournament last year, had a good attempt at retaining the trophy. With scores of 67 (-5) and 70 (-3) for a -8 total. Fellow professional Jack Frances also scored 71 (-1) and 66 (-7) for a -8 total. Which left the Old Fold Manor professionals tied for second.

 

Ladies Coaching Mornings

The Saturday ladies coaching and coffee mornings are currently being well attended and well enjoyed. This weekend we were down on the range working on the long game and picking up some helpful tips to work on out on the course. If a mid-week session would be preferential to you, please respond to this email and, depending on numbers, we will have a mid-week session up and running within the next few weeks.

On The Course...

Over the past week, we have held the Men's and Ladies NPFA Shield. We have had some excellent scores returned to us and even a hole-in-one! Well done to all that took part, results were as follows:

Ladies NPFA Shield

First place - Fiona King (93 = 66), second place - Carol Magee (92 = 72) and in third place - Bronagh O'Keeffe (80 = 74).

Men's NPFA Shield

First place - Alistair Fraser (78 = 65) - £75, second place - Andrew Leggatt (78 = 66) - £35, third place - Marc Ross (79 = 67) - £20 and in fourth place - Simon Lloyd (84 = 68) - £15.

NPFA Shield Twos - Alastair Fraser at 7th, Richard Empson at 14th, Callum Austin at 14th and Anthony Rushton at 10th. Each two's winner shall receive four balls, well done!

 

Fiona Strikes Gold On The 7th - New Shoes = Hole-in-One

On Saturday in the NPFA Shield, member Fiona King hit the perfect shot on the 7th hole on the way to victory to score her first ever hole-in-one. Fiona also has just purchased a pair of the extremely popular FootJoy EmPower shoes which obviously must have contributed hugely to her great golf…

Captain Follows Suit!

The Captain, Kevin Humphreys, went on a golf trip last week to Kings Lynn. On this trip he too achieved a hole-in-one on the 16th hole. It's not every week you have two of your members having a hole-in-one. Well done both.

Can You Guess Whose Ball This Is?

Last week we asked you whose ball ended up in the Old Fold Manor Car Park. The clue was that "this member is known for expressing his anger on the course every now and then." 

The first person to respond with the correct answer was Jason Glanville, it was indeed NICK BOLSOLVER's ball in the car park.
